Open Card Battle in Events. Build a 20-card deck plus a captain and duel a Bot, Expert Bot or another player; each player has three hitpoints.

Draws, backups and energy

At the start of a turn, draw a number of cards equal to the turn number. Losing a hitpoint adds two Backup cards to your hand and one more energy per turn. The update lists Investigation Leader, The Shadow Monarch and Raging Oni as captains.

Progression rewards

A win pays 25 Gems and a loss pays five. Bot and Expert Bot wins give 50 and 200 Card Battle XP. Defeating a bot unlocks Unbound cards; Expert Bot also unlocks Unknown cards. The 20-level progression awards six cards, 550 Trait Rerolls and 400 Memoria Shards, plus King of Games at level 20. These totals are progression rewards, not the payout for each duel.
